A town hall in which the community and district are able to engage in dialogue is essential. As a parent who was considering TIDE for my child in the future, I am concerned to see the district considering it's closure, and worried about the lack of transparency in the process.

Real dialogue would give us a chance to ask questions and clarify the data.

Different students have different learning needs. TIDE Academy addresses this for students who would not necessarily be successful in larger schools. Offer choices to your students. They deserve no less.

I’m signing this petition because Tide Academy is more than a school it’s a safe space and a vital part of our community. Closing it would deeply impact students and families who depend on it.

I am a parent to a 9th grader student at Tide Academy. We moved from a bigger high school -Sequoia, which was not working for my child. I am very happy with Tide Academy and their success and support they have provided not only to my child but also to past graduates. I am very happy with the model the school has delivered and the commitment they have towards students and the community. Tide Academy is a school to be learned from as bigger school suffer from bullying and other issues which limit the success of students. We ask for Tide Academy to remain open to continue the great education they provide to our students and future students as well.

My son Jose Manuel Lombera was the original class to open and graduate from TIDE. This smaller school was perfect for him, he was someone who was focused and school and.never really cared too much for the extra curricular activities going on that happen at bigger high schools. He found himself here and his crowd of friends and he could be himself and be confident and not try to fit in with what he wasn't. He is now a Junior at UC Santa Cruz studying 2 majors, in after school programs, teaching classes, and working. I thank TIDE a lot for his success in school and all he is accomplishing, even though he's always been that person. Thanks to TIDE he was comfortable and able to take full advantage of what they offered and look.at him know. Please give these other students who deserve the habe the same opportunities as previous students.

Please do not close this school. This school is more than a building — it is a safe, stable, and nurturing place for our children to learn and grow. Closing it would disrupt their education, emotional well-being, and sense of community. Families rely on this school, and our children deserve consistency, support, and access to quality education close to home. Please listen to the parents and protect our kids’ future.
