We, the undersigned, call for equality to be introduced into succession rules.

We note that the royal wedding of Prince William and Katherine Middleton is on April 29th, and if their firstborn is a girl under current succession laws she will not be first in line to the throne unless she has no brothers.

We further note that the monarchy can modernise without compromising the outstanding work it does for our country.

We therefore request that the government removes the rule of primogeniture from the Act of Settlement.

Its 2011 we really need to move past these old rules. A person should inherit regardless of gender its just common sense.
