I just want to share this video that also shows that some people suffer or die unnecessarily because parents are not allowed to make the best medical decisions for their children. When my daughter was 13 she had epilepsy and I have to go against the system to treat her with dietary changes that were successful in stopping the seizures, I just want to share this video that is based on what can happen when a mother goes against the system to try to save her child. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyeC9IiFKpw

My son was misdiagnosed also when they finely took a blood test and took a scan they discover he had cancer but it was too late , stage 4.His doctor assume it was just back pain.Doing nothing is their "do no harm"

I too have been misdiagnosed (or not diagnosed). I got lucky and One nurse, and one Doc went above and beyond and saved me. Not everyone is so lucky. We need better patient advocacy.

I am so very sorry for your loss. It is heartbreaking that all the doctors didn't fight as hard as you all did.

I pray this helps this cause. I am sorry for the loss of this beautiful life. Healthcare reform will help but metacognition and thinking about thinking needs to occur as well.

To err is human, however errors which are preventable and yet, never corrected and continue to be perpetuated should be reclassified as bias induced disregard.

Patients are often the best source of a diagnosis to a good doctor... they should not be a threat to an arrogant one...

I have recently become certified in patient safety. Even though my role is infection preventionist, I continue to speak up and advocate for the patient as well as encourage others to speak up, employees and families and patients. Together we can work to fix the broken healthcare system!

I've experienced a similar journey with the Traditional Medical community. So much so that even with multiple incurable & excruciatingly painful Neurological conditions, I avoid Doctors like the plague
