Study Hall for BHS

Last year Blacksburg High School had over 300 students taking eight classes and going throughout the day without a lunch break. The current A/B block schedule provides our students with the option of taking eight classes AND have a full lunch period.
Our challenge is that all students are currently required to take eight
classes. Not all students can handle the demands and stress of eight
classes. Students must be able to choose a path that meets their
individual needs. BHS needs to have a study hall option for its
students.
The highest performing schools in the state are not only on a A/B block but also offer a study hall period for students. Blacksburg High School must have the option of a supervised study hall for its students starting as soon as the 2015-2016 school year.
