Montclair State University Students should be required to complete a CPR Certification Course during their freshman year. CPR Courses are not time consuming nor difficult to obtain especially when provided during a General Education Required course, such as Freshman Seminar. Students need to be able to move quickly in emergency situations rather than standing around and watching. The CPR course will not only encourage students to learn a life-saving tool, but will be able to provide assistance on and outside of MSU's Campus. Students are the future and with that, they can set an example for many other age groups to go out and save lives with something as simple as a breath of air!

The momentum behind this push is real and the administration is starting to take notice of our demand for mandatory CPR training. Post the link to your Facebook timeline and email the Dean about why freshman year is the right time for this requirement.

Had to learn this for my job and it was super easy. Definitely agree it should be part of the freshman year stuff.

Everyone should know how to do this. You never know when something bad might happen. Should be a no brainer.
