But there's a difference taking a stand and making a well thought out, well-researched plan on how to accomplish something. Demanding money from the university with no plans for fundraising or how to accomplish any of this won't fix anything. It makes the organizers look desperate and grasping at straws to be heard, which clearly isn't what they want. If they don't have a plan to pay for all of this, it'll get added to students' tuition. This is millions of dollars that they're asking for, which would drastically increase the cost of college, and would disproportionately affect the very groups of students and communities they seek to support.

As a POC, this is one of the most privileged and ridiculous things I have ever seen, and makes me ashamed to be a Western student. It's ironic that so much effort and thought has gone into something that is literally impossible. Do you realize how much money you are demanding in one month? Furthermore, the proposed college would be one of the most useless colleges I have ever heard of. People should definitely accumulate five figures in student debt to get a BA in how to be politically correct. I believe that social justice is one of the most important concepts in this century, that Black Lives Matter, that we as a society have so much further to go, and seeing these ideals co-opted by a bunch of screaming children is one of the saddest things I have ever seen. Also, I'm pretty sure it's spelled history. Yes, it has a his in it. No, that does not make the word inherently masculine and an example of the patriarchy. Yes, you've made mountains out of molehills when there are real mountains to climb. Grow up.
