Students Ask Ohio Lawmakers to Remove Harmful Amendment

Please keep Wgu authorized university in Ohio.

Funding for online colleges is must! This is the only way i am able to further my education is by going online. I have to work full time to support my family. Without help to support school i would be able to make this possible. Please dont take this away from people.

WGU is an excellent university. It sounds like Ohio wants to take away funding because WGU is almost too good of a school. This is outrageous. Give students access to funding for this high quality education.

Please keep options open for Ohioans to attend the accredited university of their choice. In this day and age of skyrocketing student debt, cost-effective, non-profit education options must be left on the table. Let's not allow politics to harm those citizens who depend on their government to make choices in the best interests of the governed.

WGU breaks barriers the of traditional brick and mortar schools. Working adults with busy lives are able to achieve their goals, and dream of being a college graduate because of the flexibility. I recently attended the WGU graduation ceremony in Cincinnati Ohio, and I have never been more proud of myself, and all the fellow WGU grads, for this accomplishment. Please don't take people's dreams from them!

This amendment flies in the face of growing technology and reduces adult student choices for accredited education. Please eliminate this harmful amendment.

Please think about all of the students affected by this amendment and their families and futures.

It would hurt people that are trying to further their education.

I am an admissions coordinator and student at WGU. I have seen how much WGU changes lives for the better. Don't take that away.

My quality of education with WGU proves on my job to be superior to other options taken by others, brick and mortar means nothing! If a person is a serious student then serious it is! A goof is a goof regardless of what school they go to! I need the financial help.

I fully fund my own education. However, others are not as fortunate. Do not pass any laws that would prevent further education for those who need assistance.

Students should be free to go to school where they wish and can afford. Hard work should be rewarded.

Not everyone has the time and bandwidth as an adult to go to a 'brick and mortar' school. WGU offers a solution. Higher Learning is a good thing, is it not? The return for the economy is tremendous. Politicians, if you can't do the basic math on this one to see the benefits that schools like WGU provide to the nation, then perhaps some of you should return to your 'brick and mortar' of choice, and touch up on those Economics 101 skill sets.

WGU has allowed me to complete my bachelors degree. Ohio should focus on a better educated work force instead of protectionist laws to prop up one business over another. The Ohio schools should be able to compete to earn enrollment. That is how our system is supposed to work.

I am in my last year at WGU! Please do the right thing by all who have sacrificed family time, worked several jobs along with teaching, as well as studied, wrote endless amounts of papers and have strived to be an exceptional learner every step of the way!

This discriminates against adult learners and hurts Ohio!

It’s great that traditional schools based in Ohio are starting to implement online classes. Let there be good competition and let students choose which online-based school they think is best for them! It’s not an unfair deal. Other schools should step up their game and compete. Education is an industry where capitalism should not be the priority. I support students who work hard to get ahead in their careers and advance themselves intellectually! I support debt-free affordable quality education, which WGU offers!
