Students Against Unfair Bathroom Policy

I’m always getting yelled at because I was in the bathroom to long but really the lines are just to long and there is only one bathroom and it smells because people don’t flush their poop

This is not fair. It is not good for anyone to hold in their urine. As a nurse I can attest to this. Three may need to be someone to escort the student to the lavatory. I assume this is in place due to drugs, bullying amongst other things. But from s health and human rights perspective, in my opinion I feel this could cause many to suffer from complications of holding their urine. Please reconsider because it’s not fair to punish the whole school for acts of others.

Time to make some changes!

I feel like my class time is compromised when I have to walk further than needed to use the bathroom. I also recently got sick from not using the bathroom all day since I didn’t want to miss class, and although I could’ve taken the time to walk to the first floor, I felt that I didn’t want to miss 15 minutes of class time. You can miss a lot in 15 minutes. The administration needs to directly address the problem of vaping in the bathrooms, and if students want to open the bathrooms, they need to use them appropriately as well. I have heard numerous students talking in my classes about what they are going to do during breaks (vape) and they leave in groups to use vapes in the bathrooms, which is the main problem. Students that use the bathrooms for purposes other than what they are meant for complain about the new policies, which confuses me. The administration has a very difficult job already, don’t make it more difficult. Last year, I went to a meeting that talked about the issue of vaping in the bathrooms, but my fellow students and I feel like none of our solutions were considered. It is highly innapropriate to shut the bathrooms, another solution needs to be discussed.

Already sent emails last year about taking my daughter’s human right away of being able to use the bathroom! Unacceptable!!!

imminent physical damage and thousands of dollars in future medical bills is sufficient enough punishment for vapers. to punish the many for the actions of the few is unfair and unjust.

I find very unfair that the bathrooms get locked and I’m someone that uses the bathrooms in the morning

Absolutely ridiculous. No one can hold their pee in all day everyday or wait until you get into a bathroom that only has three stalls. You're going to wait the entire 5 minutes (or more!) just to get into a stall. I just cannot believe how absurd this is. Punish the kids that are vaping or don't let your kids have a vape/bring it to school. It's really upsetting to see that the entire school is being punished instead of punishing the few kids that started the problem. I think NMHS will have a lawsuit on their hands if they don't unlock the other bathroom doors soon.
