All of us keen cyclists of an age older than MOST of the KOM segment holders would like to be recognised for being higher than our overall leaderboard position on a segment there is no indication of this anywhere.

A lot of us are #1 and rightly KOM for our age group in a particular segment, but may only be lingering way down the full leaderboard. How on earth are we ever going to be able to compete with a 19 year old !?. In fact someone of say 60 getting a KOM within their own age group is far more an achievement and should be recognised through respective KOM badges per age group. There is a QOM so as to avoid sexism, but what about ageism ??.

Awarding the fitter youngsters with no indication of merit for your older members is an elitist methodology which discourages older members from striving to attain better segment times simply to jump from position 48 to 46... ZZzzz. But if all you need is to shave 5 seconds off your time to move from 2nd to 1st within your age group and get a lovely specially recognised KOM badge for your age group and be displayed on the segments top achievments page, im sure you would down an extra high5 gel (other makes available) and open a can of whoop-ass on the segment.

Strava is a fantastic service and gives all ages and abilities great motivation, PLEASE Strava, just give us older, less fit a little more consideration and recognition.

Steve Titchiner - Age 47 Suffolk U.K. overall KOM of none age group 45-50 KOM of several.
