The reason we live in Via Verde is for the peacefulness and tranquility of the neighborhood. The Walnut Creek project will absolutely distroy this! Please do not allow this to happen. We are homeowners, our opinions should be valued we pay property taxes that the city receives a portion of!

I have been a resident of San Dimas since 1959. I have watched our groves disappear right underneath our noses, freeways taking homes, strawberry fields uprooted on the San Dimas/Glendora border, strip malls built to remain empty and most recently Dunning's Hill cut in half to build $1,000,000 homes! And now we need the Walnut Creek taken from us! REALLY. Our crime is up, traffic is a free in mess and do we really need more restaurants? I vote 100% against the Walnut Creek Project!

When I looked at the WCA plans at the meetings and on their website, what I noticed was in addition to the classrooms, parking, and trails right up against our fences, (with no significant buffer/barrier or fire abatement plans), there exists a strategy (even though I heard them say they won't) to put things like an auto shop for city and state vehicles, bathrooms, and office spaces for both city and state employee's. In addition, busing in children from all over the county for field trips, open-air instruction and concerts in the park.
My concern is once the WCA has the rights to access the property, they will be able to utilize the property in ways that we might not like, and who will mitigate that? The City of San Dimas won't, because the property technically lands in LA County's jurisdiction, and we know how well the county takes care of it's property throughout the south land.
Take a look at an average county property that shares the same name as the city it encumbers. Covina and Azusa for instance, where the county has rights throughout some of the streets in those cities - there are no street lights, roads are not maintained as well, cars everywhere, code violations, etc. If you drive down any city street that turns into a county street, you immediately see the standard decline.
Test my observation this 4th of July and drive through San Dimas or La Verne then drive through Covina or Azusa where LA County is imbedded and see all the fireworks and mayhem, or go further west. (I know, I lived on one of those streets for years). They are over burdened with too much to manage so they triage and many things just slip though the cracks. I used to sweep up a trashcan full of fireworks (not mine) burned out all over my yard and roof every 5th of July. Open the WCA area up to the world on Facebook and Twitter and we will have a front row seat to our own new set of problems? I've walked the Walnut Creek trail for over 20 years and I have never seen
