If I wanted ugly big box development projects I would have moved to Gainesville.

I am strongly opposed to this development. I live off Walker Dr, close to the project and worry about the negative effects. I am so disappointed with the Town Council and my vote in the next election will reflect that.

This project as explained in the July City Council meeting looks to be a bad bargain for the tax payers of Warrenton. The benefits were not adequately explained. What I heard were hopes and wishes of the developer that have no place in a business plan. The risks in the ptoject seem enoromous.

This is a half-baked proposal that could go seriously awry. Proffers and conditions place virtually all of the control of in the hands of the applicants or future developers, who do not have Warrenton's best interests at heart. It's a wonder that the Town Council has allowed this to get this far.

Very much opposed. Wondering why this is "on the table again", after it was voted against this past spring????

If you don't want this project, you MUST speak at the public hearing. Council is in favor of the project and needs to see you speaking to them if you hope to change their course.

The Town Council needs to honor the recommendation of "their" Planning Commission, who turned this down 6 to 1, and do the same!

My daughter and son in law purchased their home in Ridges of Warrenton in 2010. They have 2 young sons and walk the neighborhood frequently.
The traffic flow already on Walker Drive is a danger to the neighborhoods with speeding and the volume. There is no room to add additional traffic that would require 3 stop lights on such a short drive. This is NOT Prince William, Loudoun or FAIRFAX County where similar development as occurred. Once this sets in, the sky is the limit for other developments to do the same. There is no need for a movie theatre, bowling ally or other plans they have in place for a residential areas. Gainesville is 10 minutes away, Culpeper and Fredericksburg are within driving distance. If we permit this approval you can be rest assured more will follow suit. Vote this down before it goes further!

Are they going to hire more police? More night patrols? How many drunk drivers are going to be out? How many more break ins are there going to be?

The development along Walker Drive must remain industrial in order to preserve the residential neighborhoods that align it. The residents know that Walker Drive is already zoned for building; however, the current businesses operate during the day and are closed at night. The owners of this land want to change the zoning laws which would bring traffic, congestion, noise and possible crime at night to an otherwise quiet and safe neighborhood. This would be a terrible inconvenience to the residents who live here. Bowling alleys, theaters and restaurants belong on business Route 29.

STOP BUILDING! I'm going to have to move to DC just to shorten my commute. I'd rather fight that traffic than this insane mess.

This type of development does not belong across from a residential area. Too much traffic, noise pollution, and a lower quality of life for those who live in the neighborhood.

Restaurants, movie theatres, a bowling alley, etc. belong on Rt. 29 Business, NOT in the residential area along Walker Drive. There is plenty of vacant space on Rt. 29 Business for this type of development. Rt. 29 Business can use a lot of revamping anyway as many of the vacant buildings (as well as many that are not vacant) are an absolute eyesore. It's a perfect place for these new business without having to ruin the nice residential neighborhoods along Walker Drive.
Not on Walker Drive!!!
Too many empty spaces already in Warrenton
when the dust settles only houses will be built.
