Stop Pointe-Claire’s project from demolishing Venture Sailing club

We need to preserve some history. There are enough condos out there.

I would have never had the chance to sail if it wasn't for Daniel McDonough who stores his sail boat here. DON'T DO IT

The Venture site must be protected as a heritage site. Many a youngster learned to sail there through the Boy Scouts of Canada/Sea Scouts.

Pte. Claire is continuing its slow destruction of sailing clubs in its municipality. Vote the mayor out.

I live in Pointe-Claire and learned to sail while a member of Venture Sailing Club. To destroy the facility and reduce this access to sailing is an act of blindness. Sailing can be an expensive pastime, and community access to ensure economical access to such healthy activity is important. Waterfront resources and activities are often limited to the wealthy and shoreline privately held. Venture is an important service to the public.

I am a Pointe Claire taxpayer. The sailing club is an integral park of the recreation available in Pointe Claire. Thousands of residents have learned to love the water and enjoyed activity through the club. It may not be the pool-where millions have been spent, but it is just as important to Pointe Claire!

This is the only affordable and community-centric sailing club in Montreal. It needs to be preserved, and invested in rather than torn down!

Keep sailing accessible to the public with this excellent organization and renew these facilities rather than destroy them!

As a Pointe Claire tax payer living in Valois, I am in complete agreement with all aspects of this petition. The park that the Pointe Claire project wishes to create has already been done with both Stewart Hall and the old Edgewater area. The Venture Sailing Park already serves a useful purpose but perhaps could be upgraded and then maintained.

My family benefited for years of the Valois Sailing Club. It was the only way for us to take advantage of a sailboat on Lac St Louis. It has served the community extremely well over the years and there is no reason to change a very successful gateway to the lake.

Building is needed to store sailing equipment. ?

Find another spot, where you don't have to destroy a heritage building.

We must save our beauty, tradition and peace here in Pointe Claire.

This is a quiet, peaceful, beautiful park. I love kids, but they have enough of their own dedicated spaces. Leave this one alone. Many children of the sailors enjoy this land, by enjoying the view and boats. Kids do not need a playground present to enjoy nature or a view.

Please keep venture sailing base alive

Don't do it!!

This is ridiculous the thought of taking venture away from the members and public. Passing by the canoe club not seeing the beautiful sail boats will be so disappointing. KEEP VENTURE ALIVE
