We want to stop this project, Venture Sailing club is a positive and good place for the community ! We need a place to sail in Pointe-Claire !

As someone without deep pockets, Venture provides a fun and accessible location for me to get sailing when I have a few hours to spare from my otherwise chockerblock life. Allowing this project would be another slap in the face to those who, like me, enjoy the water but don't have the thousands of dollars to spend a year on memberships at the other clubs on the lake. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN!!!!

Il faut au moins consulter les gens qui ont tenu ce centre de voile pendant des années. En 2016, en Amérique du nord, on consulte, on discute, on collabore.

Bonjour je ne partage pas la même opinion sur cette prise de décision soudaine de fermer et détruire cette marina, qui pour moi est un endroit qui offrent à de nombreuses familles l'opportunité de profiter des plaisirs de l'été. Je dénonce fermement cette volonté de changer la vocation de ce site. Je suis également chauffeur d'autobus pour la STM et fait mention de plusieurs endroits où ils faits bon s'y retrouver parmi eux celui ci. Je suis également client occasionnel, j'ai un lien d'affection très particulier qui permettent d'offrir à nous, familles et amis ainsi que de nouveaux adeptes de voiles, l'occasion sortir du quotidien de la ville ce en toutes simplicité et facilité en terminant je dénonce vivement la volonté de la ville de nous restreintes des plans d'eau et surtout d'empêcher les amants de voiles de jouir d'un plaisir et de pratiquer une passion commune à plusieurs.

Keep the sailing club, the boats look so nice on summer evenings

Best affordable club in Montreal area with great experienced staff and members. Do not destroy this unique place. The town will be not the same without it!!

My life partner and I have been members at Venture for a few years.Great place to be to sail at a very affordable price.We have a great time with the other members every year! Everybody is so down to earth , always ready to help each other! And that s what it s all about!!!We all share this same passion, and that is sailing!!! Please help preserve the simple beauty of sailing for us simple people who just want to have healthy fun! Please help preserve life at Venture!

Je suis résident de Pointe-Claire. C'est ce club Venture qui m'a décidé de déménager ici. La ville doit concerver ce club.

Preserve water front access for all

Venture Sailing is a unique club on the Island of Montreal. Friendly and affordable. It it makes sailing accessible to most. The Pointe Claire Yacht Club is great, but they don't have enough space for their junior sailing programs. And not enough docks / moorage. So downsizing or closing venture will certainly have a negative impact on this sport of sailing. What could be pretty easily done is create affordable - municipality sponsored - kids oriented sailing programs at Venture, and make our amazing sport even more popular in the population. Sailing is amazing for kids, and makes them develop much better than other more common sports. So there is a potential to do much more, much better than presently. But it looks like the present proposal is going to destroy the club and just replace it by something that can be found anywhere else. This is a unique location for a sailing club. Let's keep it a sailing club, and improve it. By the way, there is much more economic potential for the muncipality to improve the place as a sailing club, than just create another recreational facility. Look at Kingston in Ontario, they are so proud of hosting international sailing regattas. They attract thousands of sailors each year from other provinces and countries. Pointe Claire is ideally placed to become such a location in Quebec. But one needs proper infrastructure for that, and support from the municipality. For sure, people working in municipalities typically don't know anything about sailing, and it is easy for them to put forward proposals that are much more mainstream. This is myopic short term behaviour, however. But they need to revise their proposal, and come with a proposal that will dramatically improve the club, provide opportunities to residents and their kids, and preserve the patrimonial character of the location. Lots of work to do. To bring people together and look at various options for improving the site. There is no emmergency though. In the short term, the

Je suis résident de Lachine, et membre du club Venture depuis pus de 10 ans. J'ai choisi ce coin de Montréal pour vivre et élever mes enfants de par sa proximité avec la nature et l'eau, le tout à moins de 10 minutes du centre-ville. En 10 ans, grâce à mon voilier, des centaines de personnes ont pu découvrir Pointe-Claire et profiter du lac Saint-Louis: certains ont même choisi de s'y installer, avec leur famille. Sans le club Venture, mon bateau serait à vendre, ou serait simplement basé sur un autre lac. Le club Venture est joyau de la baie de Valois, et un symbole de la ville de Pointe-Claire. La ville doit le conserver dans son intégralité.
