Stop Pointe-Claire’s project from demolishing Venture Sailing club

Touch this little lakeside jem and you might as well dump all of the sewage in Montreal directly in the St Louis.

This has been a favorite place of my friends and i to go off and sailing. It would be terrible if it was destroyed!

Je suis membre du club venture depuis plusieurs années. C'est un petit paradis pour les amoureux de la voile. Les résidents, membres ou touristes adorent admirer les voiliers et la belle vue du Lac. On doit absolumer garder le Venture. Il y a très peu d'endroit pour les petits voiliers.

Il serait vraiment dommage de fermer cet exceptionnel club de bâteau. J'y ai passé tout mon été et je veux encore en profiter car j'y ai passé de merveilleux moments.

Ce lieu de voile est unique et donne accès à la liberté de l'eau de la manière la plus noble. Il faut qu'il reste accessible aux amoureux du large. Une ville riche qui a accès à l'eau favorise son accès aux navigateurs en herbe aussi bien que leurs aînés. Ne sabotons pas cet héritage!

It's a great facility for sailing and affordable. So much potential, let us know if there is anything we could do to help this along.

Venture is a unique sailing club that must not be allowed to disappear. It provides an invaluable opportunity for many West Island families from all walks of life to enjoy our wonderful lake. Sailing is a leisure activity which individuals can practice throughout their lives and indeed becomes a lifelong passion for many. It is a safe and environmentally friendly way of experiencing nature right here in the city. The relaxing and therapeutic value for sailors and spectators ashore alike should not be underestimated. I have had the privilege of being involved in almost every major yacht club in the West Island in one way or another and I must say the the atmosphere in the club is second to none. It is accessible and welcoming like no other club I know and demands little more than a love for sailing from it's members. Pointe Claire; I urge you to reverse this proposition and consider the detrimental effects such a motion will have on the members of venture, the sailing community on Lac St. Louis, and the thousands of spectators along Lakeshore Rd.

I find it Stupid an act that is selfish and mean to the people that love sailing.People spend lots of money on their boats instead of a car so please dont demolish i wont do us or you guys any good.

Venture! Quelle belle aventure et quelle chance que d'avoir le privilège de vivre et partager notre passion de la voile accessible pour la classe moyenne grâce à la collaboration de la jolie ville de Pointe Claire. Venture est un petit bijou dans un site pittoresque unique et photographié par de nombreux passants par son attrait des petits aux grands voiliers. Un joyau comme Venture doit être priorisé, conservé et élégamment rénové! La diversification et le respect de l'intégralité des essences des espaces urbains doivent demeurer une priorité. Conservons Venture, conservons ce bijou unique!

I think it would be ridiculous to in any way Diminish the scope of the Venture sailing club/institution. This club is such a unique gift that I feel the city of Pointe Claire does not even realize they have. It should be modernized and expanded and promoted to the benefit of all Pointe Claire residents. Do not change the aesthetic of Valois Bay. Fix the sailing clubs facilities, add resources, man power and municipal support.

I believe it is important for Pointe-Claire residents to have access to an affordable sailing club. Please do not demolish the Venture sailing club as many Pointe-Claire families will be extremely disappointed. I believe that this sailing club has a positive impact on Pointe-Claire residents. It encourages families to spend time together, outdoors, doing physical activity. What could possibly be better for families? As a municipality, do we believe in the importance and value of a healthy family lifestyle? If so, the Venture sailing club should not be demolished.

I am a new member of 1 year at the Venture and I believe that the vocation of the Venture sailing club has been proven over the years with the city. I really think that the club and the city can live together. A park and recreational installations are great for access to the lake but If the only reason for the club to close is the demolition of the hangar, where there is only small boat equipment (Mast sail wetsuits, hardware). Simply give the club some containers like they did for the kayak club and these sailors can store their equipment in there. Development of the park can co exist with the club. Venture is a great and affordable place to sail from and it need the younger sailors to survive. Please do not close the moorings to the bigger boats, Thank you.
