If Network Rail have insufficient managers to deal with projects of this scale, there are plenty of consultants around these days. The last time I stood on off peak train all the way from Manchester to Huddersfield, the journey was so uncomfortable that I decided never to do it again until we got more rolling stock (and not more London cast offs!)

What we need to know is when did the government know about this, before the election when they were actively encouraging us to vote for them in the strength of doing it, were we mislead?

The case for electrification is compelling. Past minsterial statements supported this - let us keep them to their words

Transpennine electrification before HS3. Everyone deserves a better train service.
