#NorthernPowercut - It's time for a fair deal for the North

The North once again is left out. A nation that was once at the forefront of technology won't support its people. How can two major cities so close just be left with a third rate transport system? Notice how the south has still got its projects continuing and funded. I commute from Leeds to Manchester and the stress of the poor quality commute and over inflated costs for such a poor service makes me wonder why I bother working and paying tax as we never see any of it spent here in the north.

And to save one billion pounds, why not scrap the costly, destructive and superfluous Golborne Link from the HS2 Phase Two route?

We are sick of this inconvenience. The North deserves more than old age trains.. Enough is enough!

I use the Train everyday for my daily commute.
This would not only bring us up with the rest of the Country but also a sense of getting on something and spending your hard earned cash that's new, worthwhile and exciting!

Having recently spent a week sightseeing in London the in-balance between rail services in the London area and those in the North of England is obscene. Let alone the investment in Cross Rail. In Harrogate we have trains that are approaching 40 years old! In the run-up to the election both Mr Cameron and Mr Osborne were pressing hard the policy of the Northern Powerhouse. In view of the recent announcement to 'pause' rail investment in the north one has to question their sincerity. I have written to Andrew Jones on this issue.

Seeing as George has now won (with a little help from his mates in the right wing media) the election i feel safe in predicting his visits up north will diminish. He no longer needs to pretend that anywhere but the south east matters.

You can not have part of the Trans Pennine line electric and part diesel as it means that the cleaner electric trains won't be introduced.

There is more than one major city in this country. It's time more emphasis was given to major cities outside the capital to swing the balance of people wanting to live and work away from London and to create more jobs elsewhere.
