I have lived near quarries and similar developments before. It is often unpleasant to be near and difficult to guarantee mitigation against harmful impacts prior to and near impossible to obtain reparations for damages etc after the fact.

The quarry site is 8.2 Ha (including processing areas), the quarried stone lies beneath only 1 Ha. The modest 500,000 tonnes of aggregate won could be extracted far more energy efficiently and cause a fraction of the overall environmental damage done if obtained from an established larger quarry, with shared processing areas and established transport connections.

Too dangerous and unsafe as local narrow roads totally unsuitable for heavy lorries making many journeys six days a week.

This is just a selfish exercise to line-the-pockets of the few at the expense of the many. It's this kind of short sighted, irresponsible landscape disfigurement and wildlife habitat loss that scars the environment. No amount of so called "remediation" will ever return the area to what it formally was if allowed to go ahead.

As a resident of the local area, I can voice all the concerns that are put through in this petition. There are so many negatives for the locals (from health and safety perspective, house value, life quality & environment) that significantly outweigh any benefits. Therefore, I kindly request that the application for the Newmachar quarry is rejected.

The roads are not suitable for HGVs. Particularly the bridge over the railway line which regularly becomes blocked during winter by HGVs that can’t get up the incline and block the entire road

The children walking from Kingseat to New Machar primary will have to cross this route. It's not safe at all.

The noise implications of this quarry scaring animals are huge. This is closer than the Kingseat Grain Store, which in the autumn months sounds like a jet engine running on continuous.
I regularly walk along the old Aberdeen road towards the proposed quarry site, the wildlife up there is tremendous with Hare, Deer, Foxes and numerous exotic bird species that have all moved away from the noise from Kingseat
