Stop The Newmachar Quarry

Roads and bridge are not suitable for these heavy lorries

I am concerned on continual use of the bridge between Newmachar and Kingseat being able to cope with all these heavy lorries

Strongly against this with it being so close to an already congested area with traffic and far to close to houses in kingseat.

Unsuitable Road

How may another pushing a baby in a pram use these rural roads with safety and security when they are filled with large heavy lorries working to contract?

Say no to this blight on the landscape and environmental hazard!

No thanks. We don't want this dirty, dusty beast here with loads of filthy lorries thundering along the roads where the kids play. We saw enough of it earlier this year. Not pleasant!

No quarry - Unnecessary damage to the surrounding countryside

Totally unjustified way for a company to make money whilst disturbing an entire community for their own financial gain. A net loss for the local community given the lack of jobs combined with the unsafe road conditions. Disgraceful that they’re even considering it.

There is sufficient quarries in the local area and no requirement for an additional one. Local roads would require investment in order to address safety concerns.

Ugly blight on the bonnie landscape, huge environmental impact, not benefitting anyone. Please stop this from happening.

The environmental, road, health and economic damage (to both private and public purse) caused by the proposed quarry would greatly outweigh the small - and purely economic - benefit to the proposers, for whom there are straightforward alternatives to this ugly and destructive quarry.

I visited my family and there were lorries moving up and down that narrow lane to the potential quarry site, and it was an extremely dangerous situation. I can’t imagine how unsafe it would be with even more, constant heavy traffic. Put public health ahead of private profit.

We don't need a quarry

This must not happen, it will severely damage the roads and infrastructure and add to an already large amount of heavy goods traffic in the area.

No quarry near Newmachar. Traffic is bad enough, without additional trucks. Noise and pollution is not what I want to endure. Having read the proposal, no mention of environmental monitoring of produced dusts other than a review of meteorological trends. The proposed quarry is of no benefit to Newmachar or its residents, only beneficial to financing the owners.

Bad location, far too close to residential areas plus the road is unsuitable particularly the bridge over the railway line

There are real issues with the road capacity in the area

This quarry will spoil the beauty of the countryside.....it should definitely not go ahead.....apart from all the lorries using the narrow roads, pollution and noise....it will be a high scar on the landscape.
