TO: The 48th Ward Zoning & Planning Commission of the City of Chicago; Mary Ann Smith, Alderman, 48th Ward, City of Chicago All other officials involved in this matter We the undersigned oppose any zoning change that would permit the construction of \"The Andrew,\" on the present parking lot of St. Andrew\'s Church. As Alderman Smith once said on her Web site: \". . . additional high-rise buildings would negatively impact quality of life by increasing traffic congestion, affecting parking and safety, overtaxing city services and creating a high-rise \'canyon\' effect that would block sunlight and existing views.\" We couldn\'t agree more:

The Committee was formed in early September, 2007, in response to Beitler Real Estate\'s proposal to build a 45-story high-rise condominium on the parking lot of St. Andrew\'s Church in the 5600 block of North Sheridan Road in Chicago.
