How often have you been standing and waiting at a tram or bus stop, even at a train station, and found someone standing there puffing smoking in your face It makes the environment uncomfortable and unsafe for all of us, and we should not have to put up with it! But although smoking under and around these areas is illegal according to current Victorian legislation, why doesn\'t anyone know about it One can find \'No Smoking\' signs around metropolitan train stations, but around tram and bus stops there is nothing at all. How can people be aware of these laws if there is no information available Making information available and publicising these laws and regulations would not only help smokers to be knowlegeable enough to abide by them, but would enable the general public to help to enforce them, and protest their right to a safe environment while we are waiting for our environmentally friendly methods of transportation! Let\'s put \'No Smoking\' signs around tram and bus stops as well!
This petition will be sent to the Victorian Minister for Transportation, Lynne Kosky to push for change!

Let\'s keep Victoria\'s Public Transport stops Smoke Free!
The silence from the Minister remains frustrating but it only confirms that we have to be louder. I am spending my evenings documenting the lack of signage at every stop I pass because the evidence needs to be undeniable.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that so many of you share this exhausting experience of unwanted smoke at our stops. It has been a long grind to get the message out but knowing I am not the only one fighting for clean air keeps me going.

What is the point of laws if nobody knows they exist? Signs are needed ASAP.

Totally agree. People just stand there blowing smoke right in everyone's face like they own the place. Need signs at every stop!

Finally! I am sick of coughing while I wait for the 59 tram. Put the signs up already.
