Petitions allow students to see they are not alone. When people feel isolated, they feel weak and they submit. When people see that others are angry enough to spend time collecting signatures, they know they are not alone, and they feel empowered to stand up. And that's only the beginning. I don't believe a punishment is in order for such peaceful protest.

If you did everything you could to help these students then how come many of your female students broke down in tears? How come so many students are failing your course for pointless reasons? How come many of your students are afraid of you?? Ever considered that? I don't think so, also you can bring this to the principal. However this petition helps give a voice to the students who feel unsafe and scared.. So I don't see a problem in trying to speak your mind from your fear. If you think that's a problem please pull out the "rights of a citizen" and tell us what's wrong with trying to feel safe.

I don't know what Mr. Izumi has done in the past but this should be taken down. He's been extremely considerate and kind to ALL his students and made my virtual learning experience a lot brighter. He's always doing daily check ins with the entire class and incredibly flexible with students who are struggling. Mr. Izumi is an amazing teacher.

My daughter said that this man has told her that he is allowed to hit students and has repeatedly insulted, demeaned, and sent students down to the office for quiet whispering. I don't feel safe having this man monitor my child for an hour every day.

Mr. Izumi is a decent teacher but a rude person. The things he says to some of his students are downright insults. He lowers people's self esteem a by calling them illiterate and stupid. These insults have to stop. It is hard to feel safe in a learning environment when you are being threatened verbally and physically. These insults to students have to stop and, Mr. Izumi has to go.

Honestly Izumi can be extremely racist, sexist, judgemental, a bully to innocent students, bipolar, rude, and has even spoken about how he is allowed to inflict physical violence on to students cause he is an adult. I've been told that he picks favourites and had even yelled at a student just for picking up their erased after dropping it. He's a sick man and if you show disrespect to him and try to prove yourself innocent he'll take it out on you by lowering your mark. I've also heard that he takes work sheets off the Internet and they never make any sense to the students and he just shrugs it off and that they should figure it out themselves. Mr Izumi has to go!
