I am currently drafting a formal letter to university administration to demand the immediate restoration of disconnected panic buttons and the mandatory installation of surveillance cameras. We are also identifying key members of the student senate who can introduce this proposal as an official agenda item.

Stop worried about money and start worrying about the students. It is sad that people abuse the buttons but that doesnt mean you take them away from people who actually need help
literally terrifying how unsafe campuses are nowadays. just do it.
Total incompetence by the admin. If someone messes with the button track them down and fine them but dont leave everyone else unprotected. Fix it.
cameras are everywhere else anyway so why not in the one place they might actually save a life? make it happen.
Finally someone said it. walking to my dorm at night is basically a nightmare.

My daughter starts college in the fall and honestly this makes me so anxious. Just put the cameras up already. It would make such a difference for peace of mind.
