I am completely opposed to any expansion of Palomar Airport, as it would increase noise and have negative safety and traffic impacts on our community.

We already have more than enough airports nearby. SD, OC, LB, LAX, SB & Burbank are all within 30-90 miles. Also Oceanside has plenty of room, more industrial with far fewer homes in the flight path. Eventually SD will have to build a bigger airport at Miramar which is only 15 miles away!

Study after study has shown that exposure to overhead aircraft noise negatively affects children's ability to think or read or hear correctly, for example, differentiating between "bill" from "pill." It also causes a physiological stress reaction (i.e., increase in cortisol levels).

HI, Lets demand a new world airport at MCAS! MCAS is the middle of the County, MCAS is underused, large 3,000 acres of high ground with a buffer zone around it. Freeways, trolley, Train, VTOL electric aircraft. All forms of transportation could service San Diego County and the world from this New State of the Art Airport. The money is aviable. We have to offer a solution, this is it.

Do not need a larger airport. We need mandatory operational hours now. I live across from Legoland beautiful neighborhoods plague with jet noise at all hours!

That the McClellan-Palomar Airport be retained in its status as a small aviation airport with NO runway expansion, to protect the safety of the surrounding communities.
That takeoff/landing patterns which minimize noise impact on residential neighborhoods and schools be strictly enforced by the FAA and mandatory quiet hours be implemented between 10pm and 6am.
Preserve the current Carlsbad City Law which protects the health and quality of life of Carlsbad and surrounding communities.

Multiple issues exist to certify a lengthened runway. To extend towards El Camino Real will require approximately 250,000 cubic yards of compacted fill. On top of that reinforced surface to a PCN to support a Gulfstream V would need to be between 28-31. A B-737 BBJ between 43-55. The runway now is rated with a PCN of 33.
Second issue will be glide slope clearance. With a nominal 3 degree glide slope (300’ per nautical mile), aircraft pass over the shopping center on Loker Ave W at approximately 320-350 feet. The ILS 24 at KCRQ has a 3.2 degree glide slope. Extending the runway east toward ECR will decrease the building clearance to less than 300 feet.
Noise abatement will always be an issue. With most landings and takeoffs to the west, early turns to the east need to be eliminated. MANDATORY noise abatement procedures need to be established and enforced. For instance, no turns eastbound until 3 nm feet wet (over the ocean).
Failure to establish a safe and adequate approach procedure, an enforced noise abatement procedure will result in KCRQ becoming the next KSMO. Santa Monica didn’t close. They just shortened the runway to eliminate jet traffic. It would be a shame to extend the runway at KCRQ and then have it shortened because of poor prior planning.

Existing flight patterns are not being observed. Planes circle over our neighborhood while gaining altitude creating excessive noise so that conversations must wait until the aircraft passes, television or radio cannot be heard, etc. aircraft should fly out over the ocean to gain desired altitude, not over residential neighborhoods.
