Things that are already bad but will be much worse with airport expansion: jet flyovers during "quiet hours," reverse thruster backwash and noise when jets land, more pollution, and black soot on our homes from jet exhaust overhead.

I strongly agree with the points outlined in this petition and demand that the citizens of the cities directly impacted by the airport such as Carlsbad and San Marcos have their voices heard. Any expansion should go to a public vote!

Too many low flying planes and too much noise. We do not need to enlarge the airport in this residential area.

Propeller planes pass over Heron Bay/Spyglass neighborhood with altitude of less than 1000ft, which means only 500-600ft over the neighborhood. This happens daily, multiple times. This is in excess of 80dB noise level. Such high activity of propeller planes at low altitudes is really annoying and takes away the comfort and peace that residents deserve in their homes. The airport and SD Board of Supervisors should first address measures so that the pilots fly 2000+ ft above neighborhoods surrounding the airport.

No expansion and please enforce the current flight patterns. We've lived in our home for 18 years. The traffic landing at Palomar has increased significantly. Many, many small, very noisy planes, and large commuter planes pass over our home daily. There is a Flight School operating out of Palomar and their planes go over almost daily. The Flight School planes should be restricted to flying over the preserve and other open areas, not over our home.

Since living in this area, the amount of traffic has increased which has had a degrading effect on the community's quality of life. Expansion would make it worse.

I support the Principals. I note, notwithstanding the 10pm-6am quiet hours, we live beneath an air freeway. We live on a distinctive hill in Ocean Terrace about 3-5 miles from the airport, next to the Calavera Nature Preserve, no other hill like it around. I'm sure the control tower/FAA uses us as a geographical marker/signpost for direction routing of eastbound departures and arrivals, along with jet traffic from the north mostly (I could swear by the same jets I see at the same times of day that these aircraft are scheduled commuter service, although that was denied at the public expansion meetings at the Holiday Inn a couple of years ago . The small single engine aircraft who routinely fly no more than a few hundred feet above us, outbound and inbound, are particularly noisy, the smaller and older the noisier and seem to be routinely routed over our hill outbound and inbound, as are the jet (incl turboprop) traffic, less noisy but still noisy. Why is the noise burden concentrated on us? FAA, how about routing some of that traffic to the north and south of our hill?

They have ignored us in the past. I think the only way to get their attention is a law suit.

Expansion would be detrimental to our seniors and the entire city of Carlsbad, in my opinion.
Keep it a small regional airport
