Several years ago, without warning, Medicaid policy was enacted that limits approvals of wheelchairs to those patients that require the chair (ONLY) for access to bathing, feeding, toileting and dressing and grooming IN THE HOME. Any wheelchair or wheelchair feature not directly related to one or more of these activities is no longer covered by Medicaid.
This is completely wrong. Everyone deserves to leave their house and lead a normal life. Just because they need a chair to get around doesn't mean they are prisoners in their home.

Ridiculous rule. How is someone supposed to work or go to the grocery store?? Fix this mess now.
