I love this show. The relationship between the brothers and the whole dynamic of the show is just amazing. I think Destiel would ruin that. I believe (&Dean has said) that Cas is family. Not all of us see this relationship as romantic and I know I certainly do not. I really hope the writers do not fell pressured to just give the shippers what they want because not everybody wants it.

In the end, the story so far has always been about Dean and Sam. It's been that way from the beginning and its how it should end. Suddenly taking characters who have both already had canon relationships and putting them together to make a large handful of fans happy is pointless. It will, in the end, ruin everything we've become fans of the show for. Destiel is fanon, it should never be canon.

Destiel would mean Sam, already neglected, would lose even more attention, and that is absolutely not acceptable. I don't think Dean and Castiel have a good interpersonal connection. I don't like the attitude that it's a golden romance that season 8 seemed to imply. I need the show to focus on Sam, not Dean and Cas.

I don't need pairings to be canon to enjoy exploring their potential within fandom. Furthermore, I DON'T see any sexual or romantic tension between Castiel and Dean as presented thus far. It's frustrating to me that social media has allowed vocal outliers in a fanbase to harass creators.

I would stop watching so fast, my own head would spin. Not only because it would be so out of character for both of them, not to mention offensive because one of those characters has expressly stated throughout the show that he is heterosexual, but because of the utter UGLINESS of the Destiel fandom. They are bullies, plain and simple. They hide behind the representation and social justice excuses to spew emotional vitriol and send threats and hatred to those who don't share their opinion. Some of this hate has included telling the object of their hate to KILL themselves. So not only would I stop watching just because of the sheer ridiculousness of the plot point, but because it would be rewarding some of the most horrible human beings in the Supernatural fandom. They are disrespectful to other fans, the show, its creators, and the actors.
