The committee putting the standard together simply ignored prominent and expert disagreement about its content. It also did nothing to research actual industry practice. This is a power play by a group of friends who want power over the testing industry. It's a disgrace.

Lets stop this - i do not see any value from it - waste of time - only abstract and absolute and ideal things in it - lets get real and think of good practices instead of best practices. Stop wasting our time - Software workers have serious things to do.

Our industry evolves way too fast to set standards like this. What might be a good practice now will be malpractice in the future, but if we lock it all down to an ISO standard we will be forced to adopt practices which in reality are malpractice.

Because of this standard our customers are asking some questions which does not make sense - show & document the the test policy for this project. Unfortunately the local standards organization has not educated them properly. As a result we are put to hardship

This 'standard' does not reflect modern testing practices and therefore holds many companies back.

I am guessing the real value about this standard.

There is no more a standard way of testing software than there is a standard way of coding software, a standard Software Developer, a standard Software Tester or a standard Software Project.

This standard does not work. This is a business to fake testing and get your money

Testing is thinking activity not a prescriptive activity. This standard does not appear to be representative or the entire software testing industry and is biased towards those that set to benefit from it, namely the qualifications providers who need a standard to justify their qualifications.

A standard that omits the innovative thinking of the last 10 years will perpetuate the issues in software development today. Software Testing is the "secret sauce" of software development don't let this standard drag us back to the dark ages.

I Think "Test depends on Context"! It is so ironic that has standard!

A tester should always be skeptic. Stop this bureaucratic non-sense now!
