One size doesn't fit all. Allow choice of schools so that every child has opportunity to succeed! These schools are developing amazing, supportive communities and doing an excellent job educating our youth! Our family and children love our charter school!

All three of my children received an excellent education through Visions In Education Charter school and have gone on to graduate from college. This option was the best for our individual family. If this option had not been available we would have gone the private school route so the argument that my children's ADA is being taken away from other public schools is not valid. I know this is true for many, many others.

My son is a special education student who was required by law to receive services from our traditional public schools. We had to fight a legal battle just to have him tested. Many of our charter school students had similar battles. Our charter school has brought my son to and above grade level in academics (according to state tests) and he finally has friends and an awesome social life.

My three grandsons are thriving, enjoy learning and are excelling academically since their enrollment in Oxford Prep Academy. State testing confirms the benefit for all kids attending.

I don't think the people who introduced and support 1744 were thinking at all! They don't understand the huge, negative effect it will have on all charter school students, their parents and even their own children.

Need to keep my grandsons' option for his Charter homeschool program available to him, Hollister public school didn't come close to providing what was needed, not to mention being exposed to significant bullying.

Charter schools are so important for those kids that learn "outside the box". My son thrives today because of charter schools. Please don't take this right of CHOICE in education from these kids and their families.

The public school system would not be able to handle the transition of thousand of charter school students to traditional brick and mortar public schools, especially if you consider the number of virtual students who would need to be accommodated. Charter schools have proven to be a positive option for many students. What would be the benefit in removing charter schools as an option? Why disrupt the successful education of these students? Why negatively affect the economy by putting a large number of teachers and support staff out of work? This has CTA written all over it.

Excuse me everyone.. soon people will be asking you to sign a ballad for anti charter schools... please do not sign this.. it will be the biggest mistake for California children you can make. To limit their education options to public or private school is completely unfair. That will make the gap even larger in the middle class. If anything the financial crunch from children being removed from public school could possibly force government officials to improve the public school but eliminating the charter school option means they can continue to give our children and poor education and we won't be able to do anything about.

Love our charter schools! Both my children are excelling at their charter school. If it weren't for the charter schools, my children would have to attend a school with over 500 students and would most definitely not have the support they need to excel academically.

Not every child learns the same way, chatters schools are essential to giving every kid a chance to successeed. How many children fall through the cracks in our public school systems. How many teachers burn out. We need alternatives to the public school system if we hope to accomplish anything for the betterment of our youth as a whole.

Eliminating charter schools is NOT in the best interest of children. Children are individuals and should not be lumped into a "one size fits all" form of education. Some students do well in a traditional public school classroom, but many do not. Children are individuals and deserve an education that best suits their individual needs. We need to have public schools, charter schools, private schools, and homeschools as options to find the best fit for our children. We need more school choice, not less.
