The council has granted the family a secure extension to stay in their home through the holiday season. It is a relief to see this weight lifted from them after such a difficult period of uncertainty. Thank you for choosing to stand by a neighbor in need when the path …

URGENT,,,,, this message was sent from a mother suffering serious ill health due to waiting on a lung transplant , her condition is deteriorating since been told she needs to leave the house she needs our help & we need yours. Please sign & share ....It starts............. I am having a lot of trouble at the moment. My children's father passed away recently and we had moved into his home (council owned) before his death. The council have given us a few weeks to get our stuff together and find a new home,We feel threatened The problem is that the rents are too high. I was wondering if anyone out there would have or know of anyone renting a 3 bed property in or close to town? The council can offer me b&b accommodation for myself and the children [2 boy's aged 9 & 7] traumatized by their fathers death but given the year we have all had the last thing we need is to be homeless for Christmas. I have spoken to the housing officers, county council, community welfare officers and I'm getting very little assistance. My family live abroad. I am struggling financially at the moment with the children and our car off the road. I would be so grateful to anyone who could help. I really don't know what to do. I'm beginning to lose heart. Thanks so much in advance.

Many thanks for reading ,Please sign & share ,We need to put this ladies mind at rest

NOTE :THIS LADY ONLY ASKED FOR A FEW WEEKS EXTENSION TO GET THEM OVER CHRISTMAS & DEAL WITH THE SUDDEN PASSING OF THEIR LOVED ONE ,WEXFORD CO,COUNCIL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES

The response to this situation has brought to light how many people understand the vulnerability of a family facing displacement during such a difficult season. I am currently working to ensure our concerns reach the specific housing officers who hold the power to grant this extension. Your signatures provide a necessary weight that forces these officials to acknowledge the reality of this mother's health and the stability of her children.

This is a complete disgrace. I lived next to this family for a while and those boys were the most manerly gentle kids I've ever met. No one should be homeless in this county with the amount of empty houses just sitting idle. This family have been through enough.

I went to college with this lady and to say that she has been through the mill and back is an understatement. She needs to stay in her house with her boys she has been through enough. Please try and put yourself in her place or imagine if she was your daughter. Do not do this to her

This family should be allowed stay in the house full stop I'm sure the boys had their rooms in this home when spending time with their father so it should remain their home. Happy memories not bad ones of being put out of it shame on the council

Where has the compassion if this country gone? 2 young children loosing their father for gods sake they need a home allow them to have this one by giving them a tenency agreement & allowing them pay rent

I understand this lady wasn't married to her children's dad but surely there's some scope to look at cases individually. Assuming her rent is up to date, doesn't it make more sense to keep her and the kids in their home rather than paying god knows how much to house them in a b&b indefinitely!?
