SAVE THE LAKEWOOD GARRY OAKS

Once gone, they are gone forever. Not worth it for yet another warehouse. There are plenty of places to build... it doesn't need to be where these trees are.

We have to save these trees. We can not allow Lakewood to keep removing our natural environment. These large companies must find a way to work around what has been protected and growing for hundreds of year. These trees are for our future generations and cannot be replaced. Anyone that votes for the removal of these trees is someone we do not need representing us. I would like to see some backbone by our members for what is right. I will be looking carefully as to how people vote on this issue. We need better representation that is willing to step up for our town and our future generations to be able to enjoy it.

Lakewood sucks

I represent Whidbey Environmental Action Network, with hundreds of member households. We support protection of rare Garry oak systems wherever they occur, and encourage the city of Lakewood to do the same.

Used by more wildlife in the Pacific Northwest than any other species.

Trees needed now more than ever

Stop the craziness NOW! Without trees we die. How many big boxes do we need??

Please do what can be done to save the trees. Many oaks in our city are hundreds of years old and Lakewood is privileged to be home to these trees and their critically imperiled habitat. This unique ecosystem provides food and habitat for birds, mammals, and pollinators, some of which are themselves threatened or endangered. Killing Garry oaks kills wildlife.

Born and raised in Lakewood surrounded by these special oak trees I feel the urgent need for their protection

These oaks are rare, lovely and extremely slow growing. Please save this species and promote it planting elsewhere.

Please honor the name and heritage of the City of Lakewood by protecting the water and trees.

I would like to see any old growth in Lakewood protected, including Douglas fir trees!

With each tree felled, we lose both our sense of place, and our property values!! Long overdue for Lakewood to start protecting both for its citizens.
