Port Talbot communities have little leisure facilities as it is - closing another focal point increases obesity in local community and as this is the only community pool in port talbot at this moment in time the wider community is affected.

With the state of children's and adults health places like this should be promoted not closed due to cuts. Shurely it's short sighted. Less spent on welfare benifits and more within our hard working communities

This is a national disagree, the Government keep banging on about the obesity levels in the UK and the strain it is having on the NHS. It is very short sighted if they think that closing these lesiure facilities will save the Government money. However, with the vast majority of residents already obese it will only further exacerbate the rising costs in this already depleted valley.

Think its disgraceful that the council is closing pools, community centres, schools and selling off parks and fields. what exactly are we paying council tax for?? have they reduced our rates and council taxes. the answer is no. so where is all our money going?? I tell you where, the fat cat councillors and cabinet members. lets oust these councillors and keep these facilities open. I for one have had enough of NPTCBC and am prepared to fight for what is ours. Residents of NPT show your fight and bring down these fat cat councillors.

The Pool and other Leisure facilities in the Afan Valley, would be detramental to very young and very old, we are already 11th on the deprivation level, with out these faciliites we will be even more deprived.

there is very little to do in the afan valley ,what are the children going to do.it will start all the crime again,breaking in to houses ,stealing cars,all because theres nothing left for them to do

Typical short sighted approach by NPT council. Wales has one of the highest obesity levels in the UK with Neath Port Talbot near the front of this race. NPT need to be actively encouraging people to partake in regular physical exercise not putting obstacles in the way. It’s taken 4years to make a start on the rebuilding of the Lido, but it looks like its going to be at the expense of Cymer pool. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. It’s a great facility which I and members of my family use on a regular basis. I travel past the shabby Neath “Leisure” Centre to make the 11 mile journey to use Cymer. Pity they didn’t use the money wasted on the M4 fiasco, and street light revamp to keep it open……..It’ll be criminal if they shut it

Cymmer is the only swimming pool available to Port Talbot schools and residents and must remain open. We are in danger of a generation of children growing up without the essential skill of being able to swim.

I currently use the Cymmer Pool as it is the only public swimming pool that is close by & happy to take my children too as the facilities are always clean & the staff are polite. I could travel to Neath, which is a similar distance from my home, but have never been impressed by the standards

Cymmer pool is utilised weekly for our multisport club's swim training sessions. This facility is essential to the provision of our 'coached swim sessions' which contributes heavily to the growth/strength of our club. If Cymmer pool were to close, it would significantly effect our ability to provide swim training to our members and hence would likely result in greatly reduced membership at our club. On a more personal perspective, Cymmer Pool is a great local venue. The staff are very accommodating and have often provided swim lanes for myself and other swimmers to swim laps, whilst not greatly affecting or being affected by other user of the pool. DO NOT CLOSE CYMMER POOL!! Regards Darren

Excellent pool. I use for both swimming and canoeing .It is one of the only pools where the water level is flush with surrounding floor - making entry easy . Presently only one in Port Talbot - big lose if closes

leave our pool alone its the best facility in the area. you should be adding to it not taking it away. Authorities, Find your cuts in the office where this ludicrous decision is made.
