Stop using tax-payers' money on failed garden communities project

no more money should be allocated until they take advise from the inspectors and follow orders

Exactly why should councils be providing funds for a purely commercial venture. There are many much better uses.

Stop wasting our money on this unwanted scheme.

The council is struggling to pay for services as it is. I hate to think of them wasting more money on this fruitless idea.

In a time of austerity when public services are squeezed to the limit, how can anyone start to justify paying tax-payers money to property developers! If there is a spare £100,00 in the council coffers, spend it on schools hospitals and shelter for the homeless.

No more money should be promised to NEGC until there is something to spend it on - ie. a proper new plan. The councils are constantly cutting services and this proposal is a waste of our money.

ECC are being totally opaque about the £4m spent so far on developing the NEGC and now they are asking for more money. Show us the books and demonstrate how tax payers money has been spent so far and how they plan to spend these additional fund.

The attempt to squander public money in this way is a disgrace.

Please don't spend more money on this flawed project

This just seems so wrong after the comments made in the inspector’s report which made it clear that the plan was not sound.

We are told that the population of the UK has stabilised, and remained the same for the last 3 years, therefore the need for new housing must surely have diminished. A few months ago, there was a water shortage in some areas, in fact a canal was closed due to lack of water. At the same time Anglia Water, our region, was telling us we were using too much water per household. Anglia Water stated that they get most of their water from underground. Building more houses would mean less water would be obtainable for more properties, but we are using too much already.

Where has the money spent so far gone? Let me guess consultants? Lets see the books please

Please, do not commit more money at this stage. The Inspector rejected the proposals. Go back and start again and LISTEN to the people YOU represent. Thank youa

to subsidise a developer from council tax payers only to see extortionate prices being demanded by the developer for their houses is totally unacceptable. Generations to come will curse us for allowing valuable agricultural land to be covered by concrete etc.

There is no factual support or backing for tax payers money to be used or transferred to a Ltd company that has no role or responseabily. Based on the Planning Inspectors findings the need for Garden Communties and the planning put forward has been found to be unsound. This would be a complete waste of tax payer money, and is not wanted by the residents.
