Stop Unfair Taxation of Nanoose Bay Property Owners!

Not having been asked to vote on this pool in the first place, I feel it is extremely high-handed to try to make me pay for a pool I do not, and will not use. User fee is the fairest way to go.

I do not want to pay for any part of Raven Song amenities. It is far too far to travel, especially at todays gas prices and I do not swim so there is NO need for a Tax payer as myself to be paying for this faclity! I am 76 years old and that would be another expense I do not need.

This is totally unfair and I would assume that over the past while they have been taking postal code information at the pool to determine just how many users are from this area....

Area E was not permitted to take part in the original referendum nor any discussions regarding to expenses to operate the pool. Why now?????

Absolutely an unfair tax grab. Never ever will Drive this far to use a pool !

This is ridiculous to include Nanoose in this. If we use a pool it is Nanaimo. Simply charge users from Nanoose a higher rate based on postal code. This would not add staff

Ravensong is just too for Area E residents to use. The proposed funding formula is just a tax grab by Parksville & Qualicum. Unfair and unreasonable !

We have never used the Ravensong pool facility and never will and accordingly should not be responsible for any taxes relating to the pool. Trust that you will rescind Bylaw 899.02 which if passed offends the Rules of Natural Justice. on the basis of. inter alia, there has been a failure to give proper notice to residents of Electoral Area who would be affected by a tax increase without receiving any direct benefit.

I do NOT support the proposal to tax Nanoose Bay property owners for Ravensong. It’s an absolute overstep and bordering on criminal. Nanoose was not involved in someone else’s decision to build the aquatic centre and maintain it.

Very low value for our taxes already: Poor winter road maintenance, owner-funded septic vs sewers, no capital cost to RDN for street lighting (no lighting in beachcomber)

Ravensong should be strictly user pay. Very few people from Nanoose Bay use this pool - Nanaimo is much closer and the pool newer.

Please remove Electoral District E from Ravesong Pool renovation taxation

I agree with others that this tax is unjust and unethical. I certainly have concerns about how the RDN is imposing a ByLaw without our vote. And, like others, I would not use the Ravensong pool. User fees are much more appropriate for such low use.

I would have moved to Qualicum Beach if I was looking to support Ravensong!

I believe costs should be tied to usage and Nanoose Bay residents are too distant to use Ravensong very much.

I don’t live in Qualicum or use the Raven Song facility, so I don’t want to be taxed for it.
