The property owners of Nanoose Bay were not included in the original referendum to build the Ravensong Pool Facility in 1993.
I oppose the Bylaw Ammendment 899.02I ask the RDN Board to reconsider the motion and allow us to go to referendum.

As a family we are not interested in paying for a pool we will not utilize! We are against this initiative!

This exemption to pay was determined democratically by referendum. of Area "E" taxpayers that the RDN concurred with. Now the RDN wishes to reverse that decision without an equal and offsetting consideration for Area "E" to this cash call.Oh, don't get mired in the lack of usage by Area "E" residents.

I have never used the Ravensong Pool, nor do I intend to. It’s simply too far to drive. In fact, I seldom go to Qualicum (maybe once a year) and do not consider myself part of that community.

Our taxes are being hijacked to pay for other communities facilities. This sets a very dangerous precedent.

Why not have a lower user fee for the current communities funding the pool and a higher user fee for those users from outside the communities that currently fund the pool.
By the fastest route I am 29 Km to the Ravening pool and by the fastest rout I am 24 Km to the Beban Park Pool in Nanaimo. Am I going to be expected to help fun this pool as well!

I do not agree with being forced to participate in the Ravensong Pool funding. I oppose Bylaw 899.02. I would never use the pool and it is too far away.

Residents of Nanoose should not be asked to fund this project as the majority of its residents don’t even use the facility. Also the facility is so far away from the Nanoose Area it seems unfair to ask its residents provide funding for it.

The pool is too distant for us to ever consider using. We do not support the bylaw.

The Community of Electoral Area E should be given an independent opportunity to vote on this issue. The current system of allowing other Communities to railroad another Community into this Bylaw is asinine and is 'taxation without representation".

Won’t be using this pool. This is an egregious dysfunction of municipal affairs run amuck in terms of a tax grab. A referendum on this issue for Area E only is required. It is the responsibility of the Director of Area E to get a meeting with the Minister to make this happen. If it doesn’t happen we are not being properly represented; hence the system is completely broken without accountability or any grain of efficiency in terms municipal fiscal management. End of story.

As a Nanoose Bay resident I do not agree to any tax participation for Ravensong Pool, or being forced to be a participant in Bylaw 899.02.
Ravensong is 60 km’s (round trip) from my home, and it would take one hour of driving. I would never drive 60 km’s to use any pool, or recreation facility.
It is irrational to think that a tax payer from Nanoose Bay should pay for the facilities in Qualicum Beach.
Please rescind Bylaw 899.02.
