Stop Unfair Taxation of Nanoose Bay Property Owners!

we are retired & do not use that pool.

Much quicker to drive to Nanaimo for my family. With the price of gas I rarely go to Qualicum. Too far.

Sorry RDN, it’s NOT acceptable on any level to have Nanoose residents pay for services 30km away.

Been here for 20 years and never used it. Go to Nanaimo if I want a swimming pool.

Have lived here for over 20 yrs and never used the pool once. We go into Nanaimo if we want a pool. Easier to get to.

I am against being taxed for this project which is not close to my property and thus is not used by us.

Would never drive that far to use a pool.

Please do not include Nanoose Bay in the Ravensong Pool taxes. I live on the ocean and swim there when I want to swim.

I oppose the tax as I have no vested interest in this facility, and I expect RDN to abide to the agreement that originally excluded us..

The Ravensong pool is approximately 40 kms from my home and I have not used it once in all the years I've lived here. The residents of Qualicum originally wanted the pool, not Nanoose Bay so it should be the financial responsibility of that community. Nanoose Place is in need of major repairs and maintenance and I don't think Qualicum residents would be receptive to paying increased taxes for that.

use a user fee. why should Nanoose Bay pay for another towns rec pool

It is equal distance to the Nanaimo Aquatic Center, which has served our community well for many years. The Ravensong Community pool is a poorly managed facility held captive by the local users who are possessive and unwelcoming. Even if it were to be expanded and upgraded I wouldn’t return to use it, yet alone wish to contribute to the capital costs and maintenance of it in addition, it is clearly time the Nanoose Bay/Parksville area, with all its development and increasingly dense population get their own recreational facilities rather than paying handsomely for facilities in other towns that are 25-30 mins away on a highway that becomes more congested, unreliable and treacherous every day. It no longer (and in the long run) makes sense to pay for other communities to have improved facilities when we ourselves have none.

We never go to Qualicum to use the pool….Nanaimo would be our choice.

We use the Nanaimo pools not Ravensong. Please do not include Nanoose Bay residents as a funding source for this.
