Not fair: Teachers have to pay for expensive Health Care Coverage when administrators and School Board Members receive coverage for free!

Adminstrators and board members should never have better benefits than teachers.

Double standards. The teachers deserve free insurance and the board members should pay. They are not dedicating their lives to inrich our children.

I have lived in the Alta Vista neighborhood for 31+ years. I do not have children, but have voted for the parcel taxes to help our schools. I am in favor of the teachers. They need an increase in pay or else they will leave for a better paying job.

Teachers are the backbone of the system. Pay them and give them the same medical benefits you awarded to yourselves and administrators.

It is time for the elected board to do the right thing for our teachers and students.

I've been teaching in Palo Alto for 20 years, but live in USD boundaries. The commute has been wearing on me. I looked into making a district change, but I would take a $30k pay cut and pay triple more in benefits. I'll keep commuting. You can do better USD, take care of your teachers. You are keeping highly qualified teachers from coming to your district.

Respect our teachers, they respect your kids. We have already lost too many great teachers, please keep the quality of education in our district.

I love our teachers! They deserve better than this for all the tremendous amount they give of themselves. They have an amazing craft that they share with our children. I don't want them taken for granted!!

how does the board justify reduced healthcare costs for themselves but not the teachers! Don't think we wont remember this when it comes time to vote for a new school board member. #OurTaxesWeSayYesPayTeachers>$

If you want to attract and keep quality Teachers, you need to ante up people. Even if the District Board needs to take a pay cut...this is the price of doing business in the Bay Area. Get over it!!!

I'm a parent of 2 USD students and I'm disappointed to learn USD teachers are being disrespected by greedy board members. How can they refuse teachers better health benefits while they get great coverage.

I taught in Union District for 33years. The compensation packages were always below the surrounding districts. It is time for the Union School District to finally recognize the talented teachers employed by USD with a fair compensation package.

As a retired teacher from the state of Tennessee, I know first-hand the effects of a public school district's devaluing of professional teachers: low morale among colleagues, exodus of experienced quality educators to other professions or other school districts, and failure to attract highly qualified new teachers to the district. Do you really want to be like Tennessee?!

We have excellent teachers in the Union District and live in one of the most expensive areas to live....Their compensation should be elevated to reflect this!!!
