Our teachers deserve fair compensation inline with the other neighboring districts. They have been starved by the choices of the district for years and this cannot be a justification today. They need fair treatment and health coverage.

Competitive wages are needed to retain Alta Vista Elementary Schools teachers! They are fantastic and it would be a shame to see any of then move to a different district due to issues related to compensation.

My children went to school in Union School District and I worked there for 29 years. It makes me so sad that the same health benefits policy for administrators and employees still exists. Refought to get this changed a decade ago or more and it is wrong. Paychecks should be able to be lived on not just pay the outrageous amount of money that employees pay for health care.Our teachers care and work so hard at every school and grade level is not fair!

I was appalled to hear that not only do we rank at or near the bottom of the pay scale for surrounding districts, but coupled with the fact that teachers pay out of pocket for benefits is totally unacceptable in my opinion.

Teachers should not have to ask for fair compensation & health coverage! These educators are responsible for shaping the minds of our future leaders & these benefits should be inherent.

Our teacher's are one of our greatest asset in USD and in tern why our schools are rated so high.
The school board is very much expendable in my eyes, if they don't take care of our teachers' who intern are in fact teaching our greatest asset then we must get a new board that understands what's truly important to us.
