Stop unfair compensation practices of the Union School District Board

Support our local teachers!!

I am happy to support the dedicated teachers of this district, who are languishing in sub-standard pay. I stand with USD teachers!

USD says they need to keep their $14 million "rainy day" fund in tact so they don't have to cut programs. What programs? Elementary school art, music, PE and science are funded by Home and School Clubs, grants or run by parent volunteers. Middle school athletics is supported through donation or fundraisers by the ASB. So what "programs" are they talking about?

I stand with USD teachers!

As a teacher and a wife of a civil servent it is getting increasingly harder to live in the bay area. We need pay that lines up with the coat of living in the Silicon Valley.

This is an injustice. Take care of our teachers

at least find a different solution for the gap the healthcare creates

More than a profession Teaching is a service. Our Teachers needs to be appreciated by all means.

My son went through this district K-12...was a great district with mostly great teachers....get busy paying them appropriately or lose them.

Teachers are responsible for the very basis on how our children learn and grow, they have a huge role in our future. They deserve to be treated fair, compensation and benefits that are Affordable.

A financial fact: As reported by Supt. Denise Clay and Rita Sohol (Financial Dept.) USD has $14million in excess of their 3% mandated reserve. As reported to the UDEA bargaining team by the district, the cost of a 1% increase in salary on the teachers' salary schedule is $208,549. Let's do some simple math here. If you take that $208, 549 and multiplied it until you got to $14 million, you could do that over 67 times and still not reach 14 million! 67 times! Sit and ponder that a while. Seriously

I'm a former student and the daughter of a retired teacher from this district. I'm completely disgusted. Focus on the kids - that means provide good teachers, plenty of books, and some technology.

You say you don't have the money to pay our teachers and you send out emails with lies, but why not tell how you make 5 million in rent on your properties that's all profit for you and you have to save it for a "rainy day" or how ( and I won't name names) a certain person gave herself a huge raise right before she retired and now the replacement lady make $290 thousand a year. Your gonna loose your teachers and loose your high test score. You will sink this school district by your greediness.

My husband is a high school Special Education Math Teacher, truly, how do you expect great teachers to stay in the profession? Please vote in favor of your teachers!!

Teachers change our children's lives and it is proven better education leads to better futures, stronger economies, and improved communities. Dollar for dollar they are severely underpaid compared to their workload and contribution to society. It is a small and fair increase that is well deserved and overdue.
