Teachers, teacher aids, office staff, custodians, have always strived to do what is best for their students! Hopefully, one day, they will all be recognized, compensated and appreciated for their endless dedication they show day in and day out every year.

If we want to keep the excellent teachers that we have and recruit new teachers, we must offer a competitive wage and benefit package.

I have 3 kids that two of they are in USD and one will go to USD in the future. USD are the best teacher ever and they spend extra hours before and after school to ensure proper education for our kids. USD teachers deserve fair pay compared to other districts!

My three children have gone to school in this district, because of these amazing teachers. We have moved out of state for a couple years and came back because of theses teachers.!! They deserve to get fair pay and benefits!

Our teachers are under paid and over worked. I know, my Mom is a retired teacher.

As a parent of children who attend Union and Leigh I am in full support of equitable wages and benefits for teachers, admin and board members. This area is very expensive to live in, and it is concerning to me that board members and admin are ok accepting full health coverage but not provide the same benefit to the teachers who are responsible for the district's high performance. If full health coverage is not going to be provided, teachers should be fairly compensated in their salaries.

I am so disappointed in our board and administration. What are you thinking? Are you like congress and get great benefits for yourselves and deny adequate coverage to your already underpaid teachers. Janice, I am especially surprised at you. I worked for your reelection and had more confidence in you standing up for our outstanding teachers. You have to even up the pie in favor of our teachers. This is very sad indeed.

Meant to put my name on and not be anonymous...this is Theresa Chaid and I am sickened by the lack of support that Union School District board members give to our teachers... My sons have long since graduated and one is in college but this is not a new issue...when my boys were part of the district I would attend board meetings about the cost of health care and the fact that the teachers have to pay into their coverage while others do not is wrong...something has to change...these teachers need our support..,

This has gone on for far too long..what a disgrace that I pay taxes into a district where board members that are elected get lifetime benefits... Yet, teachers that teach our children get nothing! Go figure politics at its best working for union school district admins and board members...SHAMEFUL!!!

Our teachers have worked tirelessly to educate our children to make them some of the best educated in the state. Although USD test scores remain near the top of all districts in Santa Clara County, teacher's pay and benefits remain near the bottom and that is not acceptable. Please consider a salary increase and benefits package that would be fair and acceptable to our teachers. We don’t want to lose some of our best, brightest and most seasoned teachers to neighboring districts.
