This affects the industry that I work in - my clients are regularly affected as they work nights up and down the country. Not only does it affect their time, but also their travel expenses incurred by diversions.

I have spent many nights driving miles and miles out of my way only to get back on the motorway and the same thing happens a couple of miles down the road.

As an evening worker who travels at night I am so sick of being held up for hours sometimes. The world is now on a 24 hour work day and I am tired for being punished for my job which requires evening motorway travel.

I'm a comwdian who drives late after my shows it is ridiculous how often motorways are closed latte causing me hours of extra journey time at a time when the roads SHOULD be at their most quiet.

The signage is a disgrace. On the M4 late at night I havenretraced my steps four times coming on and off the motorway, my sat navy helpless, as no one remembered to tell us how to get back on to our route.

We have been very lost for hours in pitch black due to a huge road closure. It’s so out of order and dangerous on many levels.

A blight on the life of anyone who drives at night.
Roadworks diverting you onto roads that also have diversiond on them.
Completely inadequate diversion signage.
A19 and M1 A1(M) closed at the same time.
Returning from Norwich recently. A11 Closed. A14 Closed in two places.
Entrance to M6 from A14 closed.
M6 closed at junction 6. Exit at Junction 10 closed.
Smart motorways incredibly dangerous.
Stansion signs telling you to slow down to 40mph when there is obviously no reason too.
People who have had fines and points because of these speed limits slow down but no one else does so a few cars obeying the totally stupid 40mph signs with the rest still hammering past at 70mph.
The highways agency are totally and completely incompetent.

The absence of signage on overnight road closures round Birmingham is inexcusable.

Ridiculous. I make my living traveling across the UK, most of that time is spent traveling home late at night. Unnecessary closures for miles when they're only working on a small section of the motorway or roads.

I am totally fed up with detours everytime I try to leave or re enter the West Midlands. It is terrorism by the highways agency making it a no go zone!

Having been stuck and delayed in numerous night closures, the time has come to revise the process for roadworks.
