I dread to think how much money and time this issue costs me, let alone how much stress, it makes me an angry person when I really don't want to be. I constantly find myself in impossible situations and have no outlet for the frustration. All for a 'smart motorway' that I don't even want.

Of course the obvious thing to do would be to nationalize our highway maintenance, so we have centralized control, but that's unlikely as long as the utter myth of privatized utilities pervades and is maintained by those with a vested interest in maintaining the status quo.

M2 and M20 closed tonight and no warning to motorists in Maidstone. So I ended up driving up the M20, then was diverted back to Maidstone onto the M2 which eventually closed at Gravesend. A complete nightmare to get back to London!
