I'm a roleplayer and this Update really makes me decide to leave tumblr rp community because it's really aweful to not be able to cut posts easily! Their updates are sometimes okay (like seein in notifications that ask got answered or other things) but the updates where they really now do something to the Content of the posts like now the textpost-thing is just horrible. and it seems like it's only there to annoy the rp community as well as other users!

{[ I remember a time when I received notifications ( and can actually view the ask in my activity page ) when it's published. That update was perhaps my favorite ( although I think that's gone now, for me at least ). However, all these recent ones is just... unnecessary. ]}

Their updates hurt more than roleplayers and frankly, they are running their own site into the ground. The pointlessness and poor functionality of their updates underscores their ineptitude as programmers. It's poor business to consistently make the consumer unhappy.

Tumblr claims this is for "attribution," but that's a complete and utter lie. Now, instead of trimming unwanted commentary from third parties, it's all or nothing -- which means removing something offensive that wasn't really part of the post now requires also removing the original poster's caption as well. This hurts artists and original content creators possibly even moreso than roleplayers, who are a very clever bunch that will find a way around this.

what do you have againts rping? Is it truly such a crime for us to wish to use your platform for this particular form of entertaiment? do writting piss you off? have we done something to you? I don't find this update user friendly, it's a huge step backwards. Even outside of roleplaying-- I can't reblog a picture and leave the artist's comments while deleting everyone else's anymore. What's the deal with that?
