As an ex-roleplayer I understand the pain everyone is going through. I also understand how horrible it is that anyone can just easily delete your comment from the original post- glad to know you saw this problem that artists have and decided it needs to be even easier, staff.

This format is unusable for a large portion of the site's users. If the staff continue to add things that make it harder to use the site and remove features the people not only use but often depend on to run their blogs then sooner or later they will drive everyone away. A site with no traffic will generate no revenue and considering how much Yahoo paid for tumblr, how many adds there are across the site, and how many people use tumblr to make money either off their blogs directly or through the work they promote with it (art, premium themes, stores, sponsored products, etc) the constant useless updates are bad for everyone. It's a terrible business decision to run the site like this, the only way this could possibly work in Yahoo's favor is by driving everyone away so they can start over from scratch and build a new community that better matches who they are trying to cater to while still piggybacking off the fame of tumblr, except that wouldn't even work because in the process if driving everyone away they'd ruin the sites reputation and nobody will want to use it when they restart everything. The more they keep messing up the site the sooner they end up with a bunch very expensive empty servers.

Every update, another path we try to find around it. I feel bad for the people who can't have privilage of having xkit or one of the other providers that fixes tumblr's poor and lacking design "skills." Do yourself and the rest of tumblr a favor and sign the petition and stop them.

Okay, this update is so fucked up on so many levels and it makes us roleplayers unhappy because it just makes everything unusable. "Making things better" has become more along the lines of "fucking shit up."

This update is a failure in every conceivable fashion. It has made tumblr effectively unusable to roleplayers who cannot make use of third party extensions. Not only that, it has failed in performing the job it was created to do in the first place. Virtually every update tumblr has ever put out has made life more difficult for roleplayers, and this one is the last straw.

As I am unable to purchase my own laptop and am forced to use my mother's work laptop, I cannot download anything to revert back to Tumblr before this update, so it's just incredibly easier to get rid of this update now and save everyone the work.

I am not just gonna say "please change it back" or "STOP TUMBLR" or anything like that. And I know Tumblr won't give a single hoot if they see this. But I just wanted to say that Tumblr does NOT think about their community at ALL when updating. At least some other sites have the decency to tell you they're gonna change some things BEFORE actually doing it. If Tumblr really cares about how "good" they're website is and if their users like it or not. They don't care, they do what they want. But it's BAD when the updates or NOT GOOD. And pretty much screw the users over. ESPECIALLY the RP community! I guess they don't even know we exist. And they DO realize they we can STILL edit OTHER PEOPLE'S POSTS AND CHANGE EM, RIGHT? So it was a useless update. Please be bright AND considerate Tumblr Staff, and revert it to how it used to be.
