Bad use of water and to much traffic. The events will cost the city a lot of police, fire and medical money. No, no, no

It it absurd to put a “wave park” here in the middle of quiet retirement homes! We bought here to get out of city lights, traffic, and noise - all of which will be changed if this development is approved!!! Where is the respect for older humans and environment?? It’s enough of a challenge to solve the Salton Sea problem to our health and well being!!

Why would any city agree to build such an irresponsible project in the middle of a beautiful low-density residential area? It is shocking please help by funding by visiting our GoFundMe Page: https://gofund.me/da8c4049

Please do not change the residential zoning to allow a wave park. We are against the commercialization of La Quinta.

I don't feel this is the right place for a large scale attraction such as this.

THIS PARK WILL DESTROY OUR COMMUNITY AND SURROUNDING RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITIES. WE ARE IN THE MIDST OF A IMPENDING DRAUGHT IT WOULD BE IRRESPONSIBLE TO ALLOW SUCH A PROJET TO BE BUILT.

When this was first presented to us at a neighborhood meeting, the developer stressed that they would be building hotels and lots of homes around this attraction. Now the story has changed. The focus has now shifted to building the wave generator first and then maybe some houses might get built at some point in the indeterminate future. This property, like all the other properties in this area has always been zoned for residential and golf. This is a residential community. We don't want or need the noise, traffic, lighting, and general commotion that will be associated with what amounts to an amusement park.
The property in question must not be rezoned and the proposed project must be halted. Let the surfers go to the ocean and let the developers find another location out in the desert where they won't be bothering thousands of surrounding homeowners.

2/3rds of the earth is covered in water, with natural waves. If you want to surf, there are plenty of places without compromising the environment, and scarce resources.

I don’t want the wave park. It’s so irresponsible to even consider using water for a surf park in the middle of a nasty drought.

Topping up the water on a daily basis due to evaporation, etc. would take a huge toll on our aquifer not to mention the initial loss of 18 million gallons of water to fill these basins. And, why would anyone come here to surf over the long summer season in 110 (+) degrees when the Pacific Ocean is readily available???

It would be unconscionable for La Quinta to allow this development. People move to this edge of La Quinta, far from stores and urban development, for exactly that reason — peace, quiet, dark skies. Moreover, this frivolous use of water in a state of extreme drought is unthinkable. Any elected or appointed official who supports this should be removed from office and kept out of politics for life.

Google "Reasonable Use Doctrine" (CA) Water Law ... should in itself preclude this Project... "all uses of water must be reasonable", etc. . How is this project with its multi acre wave basin filled with 18 M gallons of aquifer water - considering evaporation factors (high heat and wind conditions) and in the middle of a drought that is and will be ongoing - a REASONABLE use of water ? We must STOP this Project now !

We are in a drought.
Doesn’t fit with the existing community.
This is deplorable.
