I still can’t believe our City of La Quinta would even consider allowing this project to move forward.

Please don't ruin our beautiful, peaceful Coral Mountain with a gigantic surf park. I am baffled that La Quinta would even consider it with the issues we have with drought and water shortages. I am very concerned about light and noise pollution the surf park will bring to our quiet area.

This wasteful use of our precious water supply needs to be stopped. We live in a desert; are in drought conditions; and need our aquifer supply. They only want it to make money!!

Ridiculous idea for an area plagued by drought and water shortages. The noise and light pollution will also be excessive. Big NO from me.

A Wave Pool in the Desert that will charge per $10,000 an hour per person?
750 short-term rentals, 16 days of Coachella Fest- like Special Events thrust into a quiet and peaceful neighborhood? La Qunita City Council Members- do the right thing. Do not approve Zoning change for this Wave Park.

It has been 8 years since we moved to Trilogy La Quinta. We consider ourselves blessed to live in this beautiful spot where one can see wild live and have a quiet existence away from the craziness of the BIG city noise. It's why we chose the desert community of La Quinta.
Is the city of La Quinta so desperate for revenue that they have to destroy Mother Nature and the quality of our lives???? It's deplorable!

It was before 8 a.m. at NLand Surf Park just outside of Austin, Texas, and wispy clouds of steam rose from the warm surface of the water, condensing in the still-cool spring air. Without a breath of wind, the water mirrored the slate-gray sky and the chain-link-wrapped pier pilings that cut through the center of the pool.
Suddenly, loudspeakers surrounding the pool crackled to life with the rhythmic drum-and-clap intro to Johnny Cash’s moody classic “God’s Gonna Cut You Down.” Just as Cash’s deep, haunting drawl came through the sound system, another noise rose above it — a high-pitched whir like the sound of a spacecraft from a sci-fi movie getting ready to push its engines past light speed. Under the pier, steel cables and wheels began to move at a blurring pace.
As we toweled off under the awning, the loudspeakers continued blaring a wide spectrum of country music, ranging from old, bluesy melodies to modern Southern arena rock.
AUSTIN — The Travis County Commissioners Court has now filed a lawsuit to prevent NLand Surf Park from opening it's pool.
The water park has already broken ground in southeast Austin with the hopes of opening this summer or fall. It's expected to be a 160-acre park with a lined pool 10 acres large.
Travis County says the pool will be filled with 11 million gallons of non-potable rainwater run-off. It will not be circulated and filtered in the same way as other pools under state law.
Travis County says the developers do no have the necessary permits under state law and they are concerned about the health standards of the park.
In September of last year, a 29-year-old New Jersey surfer named Fabrizio Stabile tragically passed away from infection by Naegleria fowleri–a lethal single-celled organism referred to as the “brain-eating amoeba”–shortly after visiting the BSR wave pool in Waco, Texas. The news prompted the owner of the BSR Surf Resort to voluntarily shut down the artificial wave and its adjacent facilities whil

Not the place for a surf park. Concerned about noise it will generate over a very quiet environment.

Loud, environmentally devastating, eyesore, traffic disaster. We moved here no way to get away from all that. For once money should not be the bottom line.
