Final supporters
Property that was slated for new homes and a golf course is now in process for approval for a wave park. In addition to the noise, dust, and traffic, this property is home to Desert Bighorn Sheep. And where will all that water come from? There are already 3 proposed wave parks in the area. Help us STOP THE WAVE PARK

I just looked at the screen and saw we hit 250 signatures which is honestly kind of surreal because I thought maybe my neighbors would care but I had no idea this many people were actually worried about the water usage and the sheep. It is just so much to think about the dust and the traffic and the noise but seeing all these names popping up makes me feel like maybe keeping this land for the bighorn sheep is actually possible.

It is irresponsible to be building wave parks as we are in a drought. How many water parks does Coachella need? None, but certainly not 4. While farmers need water for our food, you think it makes sense to build a bunch of wave pools. The state needs to step in.
Please, we just purchased what we thought would be our dream retirement home. To have something like this built less than 1/2 mile away, is so heart breaking after we worked and sacrificed, so much to get this house.
We don’t need an amusement venue in an area used by cyclists, hikers and others who enjoy this unique and peaceful location to live in or visit.
Topping up the water on a daily basis due to evaporation, etc. would take a huge toll on our aquifer not to mention the initial loss of 18 million gallons of water to fill these basins. And, why would anyone come here to surf over the long summer season in 110 (+) degrees when the Pacific Ocean is readily available???
A Wave Pool in the Desert that will charge per $10,000 an hour per person? 750 short-term rentals, 16 days of Coachella Fest- like Special Events thrust into a quiet and peaceful neighborhood? La Qunita City Council Members- do the right thing. Do not approve Zoning change for this Wave Park.
Terrible idea. Let’s do something more productive like get all the trash on the side of the freeway picked up instead. How about do something to help the homeless people off the street instead of building a water park.
Traffic, noise, light up the sky at night. 600 short term rentals guarantees it.

I vehemently oppose this proposed project. As a former City Planner and Real Estate agent this project will have severe detrimental effects on the area and the surrounding communities.
