Omaha will never be New Orleans. A streetcar will never be a “real” transportation option here. What an absolute waste of money. For $360 million we could buy everybody in the city 16 and older a Vespa. I vote for that. Vespa city USA. That could spur trillions of dollars in pasta sales. Or for that amount of money we could all move to New Orleans where streetcars are an actual 365, 24-7 viable option for transportation, (you know because there is not 7 months of winter hell there). Face it people of Omaha, you will only get from A to B in your cars. That’s it. REALITY.

As a west Omaha taxpayer I feel the street car is not a convenience I can use at all. If midtown riders feel they need it..let them pay for it!

This is a very wasteful project, Omaha does not need and can't afford a streetcar. Omaha we'll see no return on the investment and it will not benefit the city in any way. Also repeal the "temporary" 2.5% entertainment tax while you're at it

Not enough population to make the streetcar feasible. Use money to make our streets beautiful, especially in urban areas that are becoming more rundown. Not many use Metro buses nor ORBT, so streetcar is not needed until people are using transportation already provided.
