If the public transit system is overloaded, then this is a possibility, otherwise the downtown rail transit is wasteful.

No this definitely should not be done at this time! I can see someday in the near future, a light rail, as Portland and other cities have, which connects the downtown to the outer suburbs, and eventually Lincoln. This would be a mastermind creation, and something suburban people and urban residents might all jump on board with if thought out and planned well! We have two bus lines that should be worked on to include more areas of Omaha. This streetcar is only going to help downtown, Blackstone, and maybe Mid-town, and that is a big maybe… I do not feel it will be used enough to warrant the costs going out on this! Linda Brablec

This benefits very few Omaha residents and is a waste of money. Use the orbit buses that no one currently uses and fix the streets in poor condition that most of us use. !

Waste! Money could be better spent on helping homeless and the overcrowded shelters and police and drug problems.
