Stop the unnecessary Uniform changes at Plume Maldons Community Academy

Agree that very few parents were consulted on changes. Not happy with the cost implications and think the grey will look scruffy.

The uniform is fine as it is. The office of fair trading recently recommended that schools should make uniform available from various suppliers to given parents more choice and competitive prices, this is going completely again this.

I went to this school and the reason for black or grey was that it was easy to find and everyone can fit in so now underprivileged kids will struggle and not fit in as can't afford the change please give these people a reasonable explanation as to why this would benefit anyone in the school as I am baffled?

I personally love the smart black trousers, and i feel no need to change the uniform

Education is more important than a change of uniform,uniform does stop some peer pressure however it's becoming far to petty

No need to do this.the uniform is fine as it is.no need to make parents pay even more money

The school cares more about uniform than they do the education, no wonder Plume is constantly going down hill

This it a bad idea for the uniform we will look like little posh kids when we really aren't

They're getting ridiculous, we looked for ages finding a skirt that's too big.

The problem lies in the policing of the uniform policy!!! They go in guns a lazing for the first 2 weeks of the Autumn term then zilch!! My daughters have worn the school skirt from the school shop but were told the skirt was too short. It isn't available in a longer length!!! Changing the colour is pointless as is having a different tie for year11 kids!!!!

Most pointless thing in the world we are all going to look stupid with graphite grey skirts/trousers nazy Blazers and black shoes here is no point in this change

If the girls and boys wear grey trousers and skirts the u uniform won't look smart and it won't stop the girls from rolling there skirts up

Im signing this petition, because the new uniform i disagree with however horrified from the amount of uniform that parents have to purchase, espically the skirts everyone is equal no matter what shape or size. But skirts go higher in price by the size of the child!

Mr Brunt's reply to my letter of complaint about the new policy, specifically boys trousers; 1. The (DfE) guidelines regarding suppliers are non-statutory and not actual legislation. my response.....'whilst they are only guidance you still have to have to have a valid and reasonable argument not to follow them. The school doesn't have either'. 2. The Academy has considered the cost of the uniform as a whole and found that by using Anglia Sports and School Wear Ltd. we have reduced the cost of some items. We also believe that the items supplied by this company are a better quality, the company provide a better customer service and year round availability. my response.....'In a democratic society it should be for the parents to decide where to purchase non branded school items such as trousers and local supermarkets probably offer a far more 'year round service' than the chosen supplier, at less cost and with free delivery'. 3. We believe that as a result of the changes that have been made standards will improve and it will remove the constant issues of students wearing items that although they meet the 'criteria', are clearly not suitable for school. my response....'My children are sent to school in the correct clean uniform every day. The school has never mentioned that they do not comply with the uniform policy, nor have I been sent a letter as quoted in this weeks Maldon & Burnham, so it appears that once again the majority are being punished for the failings of the minority...sledgehammer to crack a nut approach.

This is unacceptable the costs need to be comparable (the same!) to supermarket prices.

Would like to see consultation figures. My 2 children were never consulted. Or know of any other pupils that were consulted. Dislike the one supplier . An I'll fitting uniform will look worse.
