This would alter the community and the surrounding towns for ever. There is no need for a second truck stop with in a few hundred yards of the existing one. The potential threat to the environments is real and scary.

I don’t live in the city limits but I do live in Monteagle and have already had to alter my route to get home there is so much traffic already this will only congest the area further along with all the pollution- this is not for the town’s people this is a TRAVEL CENTER for travelers! Vote NO!!

I am not against trucking; we need them. I have spent a good part og my professional career involved with trucking, and my younger brother is a truck driver. But I have to agree that this is a very bad idea for Monteagle and our whole mountain community. I agree that the other side of the interstate would be a better location, even though that puts it closer to our home. We need cleaner businesses in town.

The proposed truck stop, due to its huge size, if built would result in a devastating impact on the quality of life on the plateau. The negative impact would hurt the University of the South, the Monteagle Assembly, the entire town of Monteagle including the DuBose Conference Center, the South Cumberland State Park and many others all of whom contribute to the quality of life on the plateau and are there primarily because of the natural beauty of the plateau.
